Fall Black Bear Guided Hunts
Non-resident hunters in Ontario are usually required to hire the services of a tourist outfitter/guide for their Canadian bear hunting trip. This is not necessarily a bad thing however, as a guided Ontario bear hunt almost guarantees success. The Bear Management Areas in Northwestern Ontario are very large and remote and do not see many hunters. Your guided hunt generally takes place on active pre-baited sites. Baiting normally starts at least four weeks before the first hunters arrive, and re-baiting is done when necessary to maintain active stands.
The guides are committed to building quality stands, clearing shooting lanes that give you clear view to your target, giving you estimates on peak times to be on your stand, and remain on call for you when your animal is down. They will retrieve your animal, clean, quarter, freeze and store the meat, and prepare the hide for you. If you get your black bear early, why not fish the rest of your hunting trip. Go fishing for walleye, muskie, lake trout, northern pike or smallmouth bass.
